Automated Gates/ Electric Gates
Gatehouse Security has many years experience of design and installation of gate automation systems.
New Gate Automation
If you would like to install a new electric gate, we are here to help you.
The first stage is for us send you links to our gate makers so you can see all the different gate styles. We will arrange a site meeting to discuss the project and will provide a free no obligation quote.
Gates come in all shapes, sizes and colours, they can be made in steel, hardwood, aluminium or a mixture of steel and hardwood. There are options of swing gates, tracked sliding gates or cantilevered gates, single or double swing and pedestrian gates. Our engineer will discuss the best option for your site.
All our gates are bespoke and made to measure, we are pleased to work with experienced gate makers across the country.
There is a choice of oak posts, steel posts or brick piers.
When automating gates, we can install gate back operators (RAMS) or underground motors.
All of these options will be discussed during the site survey.
Investing in new gates will add value to your property, we will work with you for the best system to suit your budget.
Existing Gate Automation
If you already have gates and would like to look at options to automate them, we can quote to install the best system. A site survey and risk assessment will be completed, and we will provide a no obligation quote. Sometimes it is not possible to automate existing gates and this will be discussed at the site survey.
Gate Safety
Ahead of installing your electric gates, Gatehouse Security will carry out a risk assessment to determine the safety equipment required. The gate system will now be a machine and it is essential that any pedestrian or pet walking near the gates is protected. You will hear the term safety edges, photocells, safety loop, some or all of these will be used. Information on gate safety can be found here http://www.hse.gov.uk/work-equipment-machinery/faq-powered-gates.htm
On completion of the electric gate installation, you will be provided with a Gate Handbook which contains a Force Test, information on your gate system, and certificates of conformity.
Visitors and Deliveries
When installing an automated gate, thought should be given to how people get in! As the owner of the gates, you will have handheld remotes to operate your gate. Access control will be discussed and you have the option of a simple push to exit button, vehicle loops or an Intercom. We will advise on this during the site meeting.
Maintenance
As with any piece of machinery, it is important to service your gates regularly, this will keep them working at their best and will identify any issues which may cause long term damage or faults. We recommend a maintenance and safety inspection is completed at least once a year, our office team will contact you annually to remind you when this is due.
Repairs
If your gates develop a fault, please contact us to arrange a call out. Remember that during the first year of your installation there is a warranty on the parts. During a call out our engineer will trace and aim to rectify a fault.
